The Secretary-General of the United Nations expressed his deep sadness over the earthquake that struck Morocco, leaving many killed, According to the Moroccan “Al-Youm 24” website.

The Secretary-General expressed his solidarity with the government and the Moroccan people in these difficult circumstances and offered his sincere condolences to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured ones, according to a statement by Stefan de Jarric, the official spokesman for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, said. 

He said that the United Nations is ready to assist the Moroccan government in its efforts to provide assistance to the affected population. The World Health Organization said that the earthquake, which struck multiple regions in Morocco, killed hundreds and affected more than 300,000 people in Marrakesh and its surrounding areas.
