The United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has reported that Israeli forces have killed more than 410 Palestinians in Gaza while they were attempting to reach food distribution points.
According to Alqahera News, the UN human rights office said the incidents occurred over the course of the ongoing conflict, as civilians—many of them desperate for basic necessities—sought access to humanitarian aid and food amid severe shortages.
The OHCHR expressed deep concern over the high civilian death toll and reiterated that all parties must comply with international humanitarian law, particularly the obligation to protect civilians in conflict zones.
The UN body also called for transparent investigations into these deaths and emphasized the urgent need for unimpeded humanitarian access across Gaza, where food insecurity and malnutrition have reached critical levels after months of bombardment and blockade.
Israel has yet to issue a statement responding to the UN’s findings. However, previous Israeli military statements have claimed that forces are targeting militants and weapons caches, and that humanitarian corridors are being exploited by armed groups.
The latest figures are likely to intensify international scrutiny of Israel’s military conduct and increase calls for accountability as the humanitarian crisis in Gaza deepens.
