The United Nations (UN) has confirmed that more than 1.6 million people have been displaced due to the ongoing conflict in Ethiopia.
It noted that many of them face critical levels of food insecurity.
For its part, UNHCR has appealed for $205 million to provide life-saving assistance and protection to more than 1.6 million people displaced by the conflict in northern Ethiopia.
More than two million Ethiopians have fled to seek safety within the country, and nearly 60,000 have crossed the border into Sudan, and many camps and settlements hosting Eritrean refugees have been attacked or destroyed, displacing tens of thousands within Ethiopia.
The United Nations has confirmed that at least 60,000 internally displaced families will be assisted with emergency shelter and relief materials.
