The United Nations has reported that one million children in Gaza are in urgent need of psychological and social support due to depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts caused by the genocide committed by Israel against Palestinians over approximately 16 months.
Tom Fletcher, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, stated during a session of the UN Security Council that over the course of 15 months in Gaza, children were killed, left to starve, and died from exposure to the cold. This dire situation highlights the critical need for extensive mental health support to address the severe trauma experienced by the young population in Gaza.
