The United Nations (UN) announced on Thursday that more than 338,000 Palestinians were forced to flee their homes in the Gaza Strip, which is being subjected to violent Israeli bombardment.
The American Al-Hurra satellite channel quoted the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in a statement, saying that 75,000 people fled their homes yesterday in the Gaza Strip, which is crowded with 2.3 million people.
The Gaza Strip has been subjected to continuous aerial bombardment since the Israeli Defense Minister, Yoav Galant, ordered the imposition of a “total siege” on the region, including stopping the supplies of electricity, food, water, and fuel to the Strip.
Yesterday, UN
Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stressed that “vital life-saving supplies, including fuel, water, and food, must be allowed to enter the Gaza Strip quickly and without hindrance,” expressing his concern about the recent exchange of fire along the Blue Line and the reported attacks from southern Lebanon.
