The United Nations announced today, Sunday, that Secretary-General Antonio Guterres decided to postpone his travel to attend the Arab League summit in Algeria for one day, in order to focus on the issue of the Black Sea grain initiative.
The spokesman for the Secretary-General indicated - in statements - that the Secretary-General is deeply concerned about the current status of this initiative.
The spokesman noted that Guterres continues to conduct intensive contacts, aimed at ending the Russian suspension of participation in the Black Sea Grain Initiative, in addition to the renewal and full implementation of the initiative, to facilitate the export of foodstuffs and fertilizers from Ukraine as well as to remove obstacles facing Russian food and fertilizer exports.
