The United Nations has issued a renewed appeal for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the release of all detainees, and urgent humanitarian access to the besieged enclave, according to Alqahera News.
In a series of strong statements, the UN also demanded an independent investigation into the reported targeting of Palestinians waiting for aid distribution in Gaza, allegedly by Israeli forces. The incident has raised serious concerns about the safety of civilians amid the ongoing conflict.
"The United Nations stresses the need to stop the fighting in Gaza, release all hostages and detainees, and ensure the delivery of life-saving humanitarian aid to civilians in desperate need," the organization reportedly said.
Furthermore, the UN reiterated that a lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict can only be achieved through the implementation of a two-state solution, emphasizing that "ending the conflict is essential, and the two-state solution remains the only viable path to peace."
The renewed international calls come as humanitarian conditions in Gaza continue to deteriorate under heavy bombardment, siege, and limited access to aid.
