The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Lebanon reported that 540,000 people have left Lebanon since the start of the Israeli war on Lebanon, and crossed the border into Syria, according to the Lebanese National News Agency. The UN report also indicated that about 35,000 Lebanese have arrived in Iraq.
For its part, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) confirmed that more than 200 children have been killed in Lebanon in less than two months, and that a worrying pattern has emerged where their deaths are being dealt with with indifference by those who are able to stop this violence, and that there are hundreds of thousands of children who have become homeless in Lebanon.
UNICEF pointed out that one million people are in dire need of water and sanitation support across the country, and in response, UNICEF has helped repair water facilities that have reached 1.5 million people since mid-September.
