UN: 3496 Civilians Killed in Ukraine Since Start of War

At least 3496 Ukrainian civilians have been killed and 3760 others have been injured since the start of the Russian invasion, according to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). 

In a statement, the UN office stated that most of the recorded civilian casualties resulted from the use of explosive weapons with a wide-area effect, including heavy artillery, multiple-launch missile systems, missile, and airstrikes.

In a statement, the OHCHR said that 3793 casualties (1865 killed and 1928 injured) were recorded in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, 3463 (1631 killed and 1832 injured) in Government-controlled territory, and 577 (115 killed and 462 injured) in territory controlled by the self-proclaimed ‘republics’.
