Ukrainian Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov said that his country does not need, at the present time, to mobilize because there are no threats.

In a press interview, the minister added: "There is no need for mobilization because there is no threat now. If a training mobilization is announced, it will cause panic in the streets. Everyone will think that we know and have hidden that the enemy will attack tomorrow.”

He stressed that his ministry would act in a different way saying: “We will work to form the regional defense forces. We will train its members, and there will be regular field exercises. We will start training representatives of regional government departments, and then representatives of district administrations, as well as workers in the administration of the city of Kiev."

According to Reznikov, four sectors have been formed in Ukraine: north, south, east, and west, and each sector has its own command. In the training fields, the population will be trained in combat.

"The situation on the Ukrainian-Russian border at this time is no different from what it was in the spring of last year," Reznikov said in a speech to parliament last Friday.
