The Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office confirmed on Tuesday that Russian forces have killed 186 children while 344 others were injured in Ukraine since February 24, when Russian military operations were launched in the country.
Earlier, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshuk announced that nine humanitarian corridors will be opened today, Tuesday, as part of evacuation attempts.
Vereshuk said that five of the nine evacuation corridors at the Ukrainian region of Luhansk in the east of the country.
Yesterday, 4,354 people were evacuated from Ukrainian cities through humanitarian corridors, and more than 550 civilians managed to leave the besieged Mariupol.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned on Monday that Russian forces would escalate their attacks in the east of the country, noting that he had information that they would use missiles and bombs intensively.
Zelensky said, in a speech to the Ukrainian people, that the Russian forces will use missiles and bombs more intensively, but Ukraine is ready to respond, stressing that he will seek to obtain additional weapons.
The Ukrainian president added that the coming week will be very crucial as Russia will move to large-scale hostilities in the east of the country.
