A Ukrainian drone attack has disrupted electricity supply to railway infrastructure in parts of Russia’s southern Volgograd region, according to regional authorities.

The Volgograd administration reported that falling debris from downed drones caused damage to electrical systems, leading to partial suspension of train operations in the affected areas.

Regional Governor Andrey Bocharov confirmed via Telegram that no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Russia’s Ministry of Defense stated on Telegram that its air defense units intercepted and destroyed nine Ukrainian drones over the Volgograd region. The ministry added that a total of 99 drones were shot down overnight across 12 Russian regions, including Crimea and over the Black Sea.

The large-scale overnight drone barrage marks another escalation in cross-border strikes as the war continues to intensify deep inside Russian territory.
