Ukraine accused Russia of stealing deadly radioactive items from Chernobyl nuclear plant, according to Al-Arabiya news.
Rafael Grossi, the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, said that the agency is waiting for permission from Ukraine's authorities to send a mission to the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
During an interview with "Corriere Della Sera" newspaper, Grossi said that there is no date for the International Atomic Agency's visit yet, but it is possible to send 3 or 4 inspectors to the Chernobyl lab.
"Our Ukrainian colleagues have told us that demining in the restricted area has not been completed and we are waiting for permission," he added.
Grossi confirmed the absence of high levels of radiation in the area of the nuclear power plant.
Earlier, the Russian permanent mission to international organizations in Vienna confirmed that Moscow is taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the Ukrainian nuclear power plant, but the Ukrainian forces are deliberately trying to impede their operations.
