The Ukrainian military said that 6 soldiers were killed on board two helicopters while "carrying out tasks" in the east of the country.
A military statement posted on the Telegram said the soldiers were "carrying out missions" in the Russian-controlled eastern sector of Bakhmut when they were killed.
Ukrainska Pravda website reported that the incident took place near Kramatorsk, a large town west of Pakhmut in the Donetsk region where most of the fighting took place during Russia's 18-month-old invasion of Ukraine.
The report added that the two planes were "completely destroyed" and the bodies were found at the site.
