British Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa James Cleverley has stressed the pivotal regional role played by Egypt, confirming that Egypt represents the pillar of security and stability in the Middle East.
This came during a meeting held by the Egyptian ambassador in London, Tarek Adel, with the British official, as they addressed the developments in the Egyptian-British relations and discussed efforts to strengthen them at various levels.
Cleverley indicated that his country looks forward to continuing coordination and consultation with Egypt as an important partner for Britain.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated today, Wednesday that the two sides welcomed, in this context, the signing of a commercial partnership agreement between the two countries, which will regulate trade relations following the Britain's exit from the European Union in January 2021.
They also affirmed their keenness to continue pushing forward the bilateral cooperation programs in all fields, including health, education and tourism.
The meeting also tackled developments in a number of regional issues, including the Libyan crisis and the Palestinian issue.
