The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency of the UK announced on Thursday that the agency detected at least 25 cases of rare blood clotting in AstraZeneca vaccinated residents.
It added that no reports about blood clotting were received from any cases that were vaccinated by Pfizer.
However, the kingdom still supports the use of the vaccine and asserting its effectiveness and safety regardless of the concerns of causing blood clots in adults.
On the other hand, a number of European countries impose more restrictions on using the AstraZeneca vaccine such as Germany. The state decided to vaccinate only people over 55 years old with the AstraZeneca.
The fears amid using AstraZeneca is slowing down the vaccination rollout in Europe which drove the experts of the World Health Organization to describe the process as "unacceptably slow."
In addition, the organization's Europe office showed concern over the tragic rise in the COVID-19 infections in the EU bloc.
