Barcelona may be suspended from the participation of UEFA Champions League for several years due to the club's financial violations.

The Catalan club may face the exclusion from the most prestigious European club competition starting from 2024/2025, according to Welt am Sonntag which cited sources within UEFA and the club.

It was reported that the club violated UEFA's financial rules that require clubs to offset expenses with corresponding revenue.

In September, “Barcelona” announced a net profit of 304 million euros, this means that Barcelona is in not completely safe from violating the UEFA rules.

UEFA sources said that financial reports from “Barcelona” are “in disarray”. So, they believe that the club could be suspended from the Champions League “for two to three years," adding: "The greater the financial losses, the stronger the punishment,” say the sources.

Last Summer, UEFA fined “Barcelona” 500,000 euros. The UEFA Financial Control Chamber said that the club had incorrectly declared income from the sale of intangible assets.
