The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the Israeli forces' recent storming and control of the Rafah border crossing in southern Gaza Strip, cautioning against the military escalation that threatens to increase the loss of innocent lives and exacerbate the humanitarian crisis in the region.

In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed the critical need to ensure that the flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza’s residents is not jeopardized or hindered. The ministry also condemned any forced displacement of the Palestinian people and practices that violate international laws and human rights.

As Israel intensifies airstrikes on Gaza, and with "last chance" negotiations underway in Cairo, the UAE has called upon the international community to act swiftly to secure an immediate ceasefire. This move aims to prevent further aggravation of the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and to avoid dragging the region into new levels of violence and instability.

The ministry also praised the mediation efforts led by Qatar and Egypt, expressing hope that these would lead to de-escalation and ultimately end the war, thereby sparing the Palestinian people further suffering and contributing to long-term stability and security in the region.

The UAE reiterated its call for a return to negotiations aimed at achieving a two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, emphasizing the urgent need to find a serious political horizon to resume negotiations for comprehensive peace, end the tension and violence, protect civilian lives, and facilitate the flow of urgently needed humanitarian aid to civilians in Gaza through safe and unobstructed passages.
