UAE announced today, Tuesday that it will allow visa-free travel for Ukrainians at time when thousands of Ukrainians are fleeing.
Kyiv Embassy in the United Arab Emirates reported that UAE's officials temporarily suspended the visa exemption on 1 March before revising their decision today, according to Reuters.
HE Faisal Lutfi, assistant undersecretary for consular affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, announced that Ukrainians can travel to the UAE with visa-free. While the Ukrainian embassy said that the mission works on confirming that officially with the UAE.
On Wednesday, In UN General Assembly meeting, the Gulf States agreed on reprimanding Russia for invading Ukraine and claimed Moscow’s military forces to retreat. That Contrasts with the UAE’s decision last week to abstain from voting on a UN Security Council resolution denouncing the invasion.
“The Arab League’s situation towards Russia and Ukraine’s crisis is neutral, as the Arab countries have common befits that bind with Russia and Ukraine,” Ambassador Hossam Zaki, the Secretary General of Arab League said during a phone call with Lamis Elhadidy’s Channel “Last Word” on “ON” TV.
He also indicated that the Arab League wants to provide help in Russia-Ukraine crisis saying; “We do not blame or condemn any party, but we want to help and try to coordinate positions to support the Arab communities in Ukraine.
