A US Army spokeswoman said Thursday morning that two US Army helicopters collided during a training mission over Kentucky on Wednesday night.
"The condition of the crew members is unknown at this time," spokeswoman Nundis Thurman said, in a statement, reported by "Sputnik".
She added that the command is currently focused on caring for the military personnel and their families."
For his part, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said he had received "early reports of a helicopter crash and fatalities are expected."
He revealed in a statement that the Kentucky State Police and Emergency Management Department are responding to the incident.
Kentucky’s governor pointed out the local authorities will share more information as it becomes available.
