Two cases in Egypt contract COVID-19 after receiving vaccine

The President’s Advisor for Health Affairs Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din announced on Saturday that Egypt detected 2 COVID-19 cases a day after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

Tag El-Din explained in a phone interview with "Sabah El Kheir Ya Masr," aired on the state owned channel Al Oula, both cases started suffering from COVID-19 symptoms a day after receiving COVID-19 vaccine, asserting that the symptoms are not related to the vaccine.

He highlighted, there is always a period between infection and the experiencing the virus' symptoms which called the incubation period.

The advisor asserted that the protection of the vaccine started two weeks after receiving the first dose, in addition, he explained that both cases contracted the virus before vaccinating and the symptoms began to rise later on.

Therefore, he underscored that Egypt didn't detect vaccinated persons who contracted the virus, adding that all effective vaccines against new strains are available.
