A Turkish politician stated that the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party had drawn a "map" for steps to restore normal relations with Egypt.

Turhan Comez, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's former personal physician and advisor, revealed that the AK party had already begun to set steps for normalizing relations with Cairo in the coming period.

Moreover, the politician asserted that Turkey took the decision to start reconciliation for the interest of both countries.

Last month, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu affirmed that relations between Turkey and Egypt must be improved. In addition, he stressed that the mutual ties between the two countries are vital for the Eastern Mediterranean file, the Palestinian cause, the Arab and Islamic world, Africa, and the Middle East.

Çavuşoğlu also pointed out that despite differences in viewpoints, the two nations must strengthen their bond, even if they do not agree on every issue.
