Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to discuss the creation of a gas hub with Turkish officials during his upcoming visit to Turkey, Kremlin spokesman announced.
For her part, an official at Turkish presidency said that Putin's visit to Turkey is expected to take place on February 12.
The Turkish official added that among the issues that Presidents Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Vladimir Putin will discuss during their upcoming meeting in Turkey is the expansion of the use of the ruble and the lira in bilateral trade.
"Expanding the use of the two national currencies is at the top of the economic agenda between the two sides. The leaders of the two countries pay great attention to this issue and closely follow the relevant data," the Turkish official added.
Earlier, a Turkish diplomatic source stated that the Russian president's visit to Turkey could take place in principle in February, noting that this depends on the schedules of the Russian and Turkish presidents.
