Turkish companies, recognized globally for their expertise in airport construction and operations, are increasingly expressing strong interest in Egypt’s booming tourism and business sectors.
According to Salih Mutlu Şen, Turkish Ambassador to Cairo, this growing attention stems from Egypt’s significant potential in business, tourism, and air travel. He noted that Turkish firms view Egypt as an ideal destination for investment, particularly in infrastructure projects.
During a recent meeting with executives from IC İÇTAŞ, Reha Denemeç and İlkin Egemen—representing a firm that has constructed 12 airports in Türkiye and abroad—Ambassador Şen highlighted Egypt’s position as a leading nation in Africa and the Arab world. He pointed out that Egypt is expected to see its annual tourist arrivals surge to 30 million.
Ambassador Şen also stressed that Egyptian political authorities have high regard for the efficiency, professionalism, and expertise of Turkish companies. He added that Turkish brands enjoy strong popularity and trust among the Egyptian public, which gives Turkish firms a competitive advantage in the Egyptian market.
“These positive factors provide Turkish companies with a clear edge in doing business in Egypt,” Şen remarked.
He further recalled that Turkish companies had previously been involved in constructing two terminals at Cairo International Airport, demonstrating their long-standing presence and capability in the Egyptian market.
