Turkey announced, on Saturday, the conclusion of the first round of technical talks with Russia, aiming to create a joint center for monitoring a truce deal between Azerbaijan and Armenia over Nagorno-Karabakh.

The Defense Ministry in Turkey indicated in a statement that the first round of talks with a Russian delegation that arrived in Ankara yesterday was concluded, noting that the talks between the two sides are scheduled to resume in the coming days.

Earlier, the ministry confirmed that another meeting with the Russian delegation shall be held at its headquarters in Ankara, pointing out that talks are continuing between the two parties in order to determine the shape of the center to be established.

The ministry stressed the need for Armenia to implement all terms of the tripartite agreement concluded between it, Azerbaijan and Russia, as well as withdrawing from the rest of the disputed territories.

The Turkish defense claimed that it is closely following the situation in Karabakh, stressing that they will not allow any concessions, exclaiming that Turkey is fully ready to provide various types of support to Azerbaijan, if necessary.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Russian President Vladimir Putin have recently signed an agreement to cease hostilities in Karabakh, with Azerbaijan retaining the sites that it regained control during the last round of escalation, deploying Russian peacekeepers in the region.

On the other hand, the Russian Ministry of Defense has published a map of the situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone as of November 14, 2020. The map shows the locations of Russian peacekeepers' observation points.
