The Turkish Presidency said on Friday Egypt could possibly play a constructive role in Libya, affirming Ankara does not want to confront any country on the Libyan territories.
In a statement, Turkish Presidential spokesman İbrahim Kalın said Turkey is sure of achieving a political resolution in Libya and does not prefer any military confrontation.
Ankara welcomed the ceasefire announced today between the Libyan House of Representatives and the Government of the National Accord.
Earlier today, Libya's Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) announced a ceasefire across the country.
GNA head Fayez al-Sarraj "issued instructions to all military forces to immediately cease fire and all combat operations in all Libyan territories," the statement said.
It also called for a demilitarized zone around Sirte and Jufra, a military base to the south.
The Tripoli-based government also called for parliamentary and presidential elections to be held in March.
