"Tuk-Tuk" Film Wins Pan African's Best Short Film Award

Egyptian short film "Tuk-Tuk" won Best Short Film Award at Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles to make it a step closer to Oscars, media agencies reported on Saturday.

Directed by Mohamed Kheidr, it stars Elham Wagdy, Ashraf Mahdy, Mohamed Khamis, Nada Akram, Omar Rashid, Mary Gerges, and others.

The film participated in various festivals such as Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, and Alexandria International Short Film Festival.

It touches upon several issues such as illegal immigration, women's social challenges, sexual harassment, and violence; it revolves around "Walaa" whose husband left the country illegally.

So, she decides to work as a driver to assist her family financially, that's why she faces various issues and harassment.
