Trump wants to buy this island.. and its people refuse

US President Donald Trump has stated more than once his intention to seize Greenland, an island with a population of 56 thousand people, located between New York City and the Russian capital, Moscow.

Denmark protested this and its government said that it is part of the British crown, stressing that the island is not for sale.

Officials on the island expressed their dissatisfaction and said that the region has the right to independence.

The talk about the island intensified after the fleeting visit of Trump's eldest son, Junior, to the island.
