U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his gratitude to Qatar Emir for his efforts toward peace in the region, stating: “Congratulations to the world, it’s time for peace.”
Posting on social media, Trump wrote:
"I would like to thank the esteemed Emir of Qatar for all his efforts in promoting peace in the region. Regarding today’s attack on the U.S. base in Qatar, I am pleased to inform you that in addition to no American casualties or injuries, most importantly, no Qatari lives were lost or harmed. Thank you for your concern on this matter."
In his first statement regarding Iran’s missile strike on the Al Udeid U.S. airbase in Qatar, Trump said:
"Iran has officially responded to our destruction of its nuclear facilities with a very weak retaliation, exactly as we expected and effectively countered."
He added, "A total of 14 missiles were launched; 13 were intercepted, and one missile was allowed to proceed as it was heading in a non-threatening direction. I’m pleased to report that no Americans were harmed, and no significant damage was done. Most importantly, they’ve gotten everything out of their system, and hopefully there will be no more hatred."
"I would like to thank Iran for the early warning, which ensured no loss of life or injuries. Perhaps Iran can now move forward toward peace and harmony in the region, and I will enthusiastically encourage Israel to follow suit. Thank you all for your concern!," he continued.
