Ahmed Issa, Minister of Tourism participated as a keynote speaker in the 4th Annual Cairo CFO Summit 2023.
The Minister gave a presentation, during which he reviewed the role of financial leadership and heads of financial sectors (CFOs) in various institutions and industries, including the tourism industry, pointing to some of the main skills and capabilities that can be focused on.
He stressed the importance of ensuring periodic follow-up of the performance and results of the Ministry of Tourism, as well as following up on indicators of the development of incoming tourist traffic to Egypt on a weekly basis, and aspects of marketing.
He reviewed the most prominent strategies and targets related to the tourism industry in Egypt until 2028, and the executive position in moving forward to achieve the industry’s goals and reach 30 million tourists by 2028.
The Minister also spoke about the main reasons that contributed to achieving rapid growth in the industry is the major development the state has made in infrastructure and achieving the highest levels of security and safety.
''By comparing the rates of incoming tourist traffic to Egypt with global tourism indicators, rates in Egypt achieved an increase of 11% over what the world achieved during the first quarter of this year compared to the same period in 2019,'' he pointed out.
The Minister also spoke about the great and unparalleled competitive advantage which Egypt has; due to its distinction in a number of tourism products, namely beach tourism, cultural tourism, and adventure tourism, especially diving activities.
He also stressed the Ministry's keenness to implement all health, safety and security standards within the framework of the Ministry's keenness to improve the tourism experience in Egypt.
Finally, CFO Summit is considered one of the financial seminars in Egypt and the Arab world, in which a number of financial and business pioneers and leaders of the financial sector in Egypt in various sectors participate.
