On Wednesday, Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Essa, chaired the 17th meeting of the Egypt-Japan High Committee for the Grand Egyptian Museum.

Hosted at the ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, a spotlight was cast on the nearing completion of various projects at the museum.

Essa ignited the meeting with warm welcomes at the ministry's new headquarters, extending greetings to new committee members and emphasizing the committee as a beacon of Egypt-Japan cooperation in tourism and antiquities. This unity is palpable in numerous initiatives, with the Grand Egyptian Museum project being a noteworthy emblem of such collaboration.

He eloquently laid out the latest strides and project status at the museum, reassuring that all operations are propelling towards completion in adherence to the set timetable. Essa highlighted that meticulous work is unfolding in all museum halls to strategically place and secure all slated artifacts for display.

Acknowledgment was also bestowed upon the pivotal role executed by the leadership and operational team at the museum, and the committee’s vigor in advancing the monumental structure that boldly represents Egyptian civilization and its indelible mark on global humanity.

He spotlighted the ministry's allegiance towards cooperation and partnership with the private sector. This, especially pertinent in providing, operating, and advancing services for visitors at archaeological locales and museums, pivots towards uplifting the overall tourist experience.

Essa alluded to the Grand Egyptian Museum’s successful past endeavors to gauge service readiness for its patrons, ensuring a distinguished tourist experience. This is notably facilitated through limited guided tours initiated last March in zones managed by "Legacy for Development and Management", an affiliate of the Hassan Allam Group.

Expressing gratitude towards Minister Essa and the museum’s dedicated team, Ambassador Oka Hiroshi lauded the ongoing accomplishments and diligent work permeating the museum’s progress. He asserted that initiating new flight routes between Egypt and Japan will augment tourist influx from Japan to Egypt, especially post the museum’s grand unveiling, emblematic of the fortified friendship and relations between both nations.
