At least three people were killed and dozens were injured as a result of a violent tornado that swept through the US state of Indiana.
ABC TV, citing the Meteorological Authority, indicated that eight tornadoes were recorded on Thursday evening in seven different states in the country.
The hurricane covered a strip of the United States from northeastern Texas through parts of Arkansas, across part of Indiana and into Ohio on Thursday evening, according to the National Weather Service.
It is not yet known how many victims are now under the rubble as the rescue operations are still ongoing
