There is no denying that we all love desserts and baked goods especially during the holy month of Ramadan not to mention these hard times with the coronavirus outbreak, mandatory quarantine and curfew.
So, here are 5 baking substitutes to make your baking healthy and guilt free.
1. Avocados for Butter:
Avocados are known for their healthy fats but they also make a great substitute for butter because they are high in monounsaturated fats. Replace every tablespoon of butter with half a tablespoon of avocados. They work best in chocolate recipes like brownies and cookies.

2. Bananas for Oil
You can use mashed bananas instead of oil in baking to decrease the calories and fats while adding in potassium, folate and vitamins C and A to your recipes. Bananas work best in light cakes.

3. Applesauce for Sugar:
Apples contain healthy and natural sugars that makes them a great substitute for sugar. They add vitamin C and fiber to your recipes as well as decreasing the calories.
Just make sure to decrease the amount of liquid in your recipe by ¼ cup for every one cup of applesauce used.

4. Greek Yogurt for Cream:
Greek yogurt is high in protein and low in fat but still it gives the recipes this creamy and decadent taste. Thus, it is a great substitute for heavy cream, sour cream or even cream cheese.
5.Chia Seeds for Eggs:
Chia seeds are a super food that are high in fiber. They can be used instead of eggs by mixing one tablespoon of chia seeds with three tablespoons of water and letting them thicken for fifteen minutes. This can be used in muffins and cakes.
