If your dream is to reach the highest levels of power, wealth and leadership, then what is the reason for the dream? And what are your capabilities? And what is your path? How do you overcome obstacles? There is no doubt that the matter differs from one society to another, from one origin to another, from one possibility, challenges, and motives to others, but what may help you is to study the experiences of others, not to judge for them or against them, not to form an official or personal point of view, and not to claim that you own the truth, as at the end, you know some of what others convey, regardless of how honest and fair they are, and it is not the complete truth, even if you imagine that you are able to convince yourself and everyone. Rather, it is better for you to draw lessons to decide what you want for yourself, and sometimes you may not be right.
A young man who began his professional career in the seventies of the last century. They initially said about him that he was handsome, confident, friendly, elegant, fun, innovative, optimistic, strong, lively, ambitious, and attractive, and that he was extremely skilled in marketing and public relations, capable of motivating and dazzling with imagination, certainty, boldness, and foresight. He dialogues and evades with apparent emotional stability despite the use of exaggerated words to stress his opinions and achievements. They said that he was certain that he would be president, and that he was defiant and adventurous and wanted to surpass the achievements of his father; the wealthy real estate developer, who built twenty thousand homes in the popular neighborhood of Brooklyn in New York, and raised him with strictness and cruelty, to the point that he placed him in a military boarding school for five years. They also said that his father's cruelty gave him a binary vision of the world. You are either a perpetrator or a victim, either black or white. You must prey on your opponent and win by whatever mean.
In the seventies, rates of crime, unemployment, violence, and addiction spread in New York, and its administration failed to attract federal funding that would save it from bankruptcy. The city looked for a savior to avoid closing one of its most famous luxury hotels in Manhattan, and Donald Trump, despite his financial capabilities, was not yet a public figure., while the dream of leadership requires that you be famous and promising, with voters crowding around you. So he presented an innovative solution to renovate and operate the hotel, which cost one hundred million dollars at the time. He borrowed money to complete the amount on the condition that the hotel obtain a tax exemption for forty years, which would have cost him 160 million if rejected, and he resorted to passing the approval upon presentation to an experienced, feared lawyer known for his relations with the administration, the press, and the mafia, so he obtained approval, and the inauguration was held with the highest degree of luxury and mastery. And to support the mental image required for leadership, Trump built a tower in his name in the most prestigious places in the neighborhood, with creative imagination and expensive prices. He entrusted his wife at the time, Ivana, a model of Czechoslovak origin, to supervise its construction with her dedication and leadership skills, who considered him genius.
However, he disagreed with the mayor of the city, who refused to exempt him from taxes, so he intended to complete an ice skating rink in four months, while the mayor had failed in seven years to build it. Thus, Trump was able to promote himself as a famous, pioneering, savior figure capable of achieving and dazzling, imposing himself on opponents, and able, as they say, to turn dust into gold.
In the 1980s, and to support the image of the expected leader who succeeds in all fields, Trump moved into the field of establishing and owning luxurious gambling casinos in Atlanta, and achieved huge profits that later tempted him to create a third extremely luxurious and hug casino called Taj Mahal at a cost of a billion dollars. But it went bankrupt after two months, so he resorted to speculation in the stock market and selling shares and property to pay off his debts, after his brand and his billion-asset real estate empire expanded to include a palace, the Mar-a-Lago golf resort in Miami, an airline company, a yacht, a football team, and a third luxury hotel called New York Plaza that he entrusted its successful management to his wife. His son and daughter also contributed to the family management of his organization's companies.
Trump's efforts to revitalize two cities resulted in his appearance, specially at the turn of the century, with a famous television series examining job seekers in his companies, as well as books about his mastery of the art of negotiation and concluding deals, in addition to previous Reagan's praise of him as a model for emerging businessmen, raising his position in the eyes of his supporters as an elegant and radical decisive leader, who imposed himself on his interlocutors and opponents, with the mentality of an intuitive warrior, certain of success, able to realize his dreams and ideas, until they formed a movement demanding him to run for the presidency in 1988, but he chose to wait until his chances of winning increased .
Later he could attract celebrities to stay and entertain in his facilities and to attend.the popular events of the wrestling matches and car races that he held and his fame increased, so he thought about running for president in 1998 on behalf of the Reform Party, which brought together liberals, leftists, and conservatives, but he backed down after he came to the conclusion that success could only be achieved through nomination from either of the Republican or Democratic parties. This is what was achieved in 2015 after he joined the Conservative Union and established a movement among Republicans with the slogan “Make America Great Again,” which grew, driven by Trump’s direct communication with voters via the Twitter platform. He won the American presidency for the period from 2017 for a mandate of 4 years, and despite his loss in the following elections, he is still a strong candidate, whatever the cases raised against him, to return to the presidency starting in 2025.
Finally, this article is not a presentation of Trump policies or even the views of his critics, nor does it represent a bias towards him or against him. Rather, it is a presentation of his journey towards leadership, according to his supporters, with its lessons that increase the space of awareness and provide, despite the different circumstances, lessons for those who aspire to leadership and dream of glory if they have the required capabilities and abilities.
