Sighting the new moon of the lunrar month of Muharram at sunset on Monday, Egypt's Dar Al-Ifta announced in an official statment that Wednesday, July 19, 2023 would mark the first day of the Hijiri new year 1445.
On this blessed occasion, Dr. Shawki Allam, Egypt's Grand Mufti, extended his warm greetings to the Egyptian President and people and to the entire Muslim community worldwide.
"May God Almighty make this year full of blessings that bring peace to the entire world," Dr. Allam said.
