Phyllo (Egyptian Goulash) is among the favorite puff pastry dishes. The majority of families in the country have their favorite choices and fillers for their Phyllo dishes.
Today, Egyptian food blogger Ameera Aboulseoud represents a delicious recipe for Phyllo using a tasty filling.
Ameera Aboulseoud
Ingredients
8 Sheets of Phyllo
6 Tablespoons of Melted Butter
2 Tablespoons of Tender Butter ( cover for the baking tray's bottom)
Bread Crumbs
20-cm- Baking Tray ( the blogger used Fluted Brioche for this recipe)
Directions:
Dough
Cover the bottom of the baking tray with the tender butter, then sprinkle the bread crumbs.
After that place the sheets of the Phyllo but don't forget to brush the layers with melted butter. You can cut the edges if the puff pastry is wider than your tray.
Use a smaller tray to press the layers.
Next, move it to a pre-heated oven over 190 for 15 minutes.
Now, get out your tray from the oven, and leave the younger one away from the baked pie.
Filling
Whisk 3 eggs, half a cup of olive oil, one cup and a half of flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and a half cup of milk.
After that, add a quarter cup of chopped dried tomato, a quarter cup of chopped black olives, and a quarter cup of grated parmesan cheese. Season the mixture with salt and black pepper.
Then, add the filling to your baked pie, and bake it once again in the oven at 180 for 45 minutes.
After the baking, leave the pie to cool, and then decorate it with flowers made from cream cheese and whipped cream (you can use 225 grams of cream cheese and a half cup of whipped cream).
