Dr. Mohamed Awad Tag El-Din, the Presidential Advisor for Health Affairs, said that there are close similarities between flu and Coronavirus symptoms such as the loss of taste and smell, however, both should not be treated as the same.

In addition, Tag El-Din advised all people to follow all medical measures to prevent the infection from both viruses.

He added that every case of flu should be treated carefully especially after the rise in infections.

Next, the presidential advisor asserted that people who suffer from dangerous diseases should be vaccinated.

He also highlighted that the symptoms of the current wave of COVID-19 are somehow mild, but, the infections emerged among whole families.

It is worthy to mention that Egypt’s Health Ministry reported 1011 new coronavirus cases, bringing the country’s total up to 396,699 on Thursday.

The total number of COVID-19-related deaths has now reached 220,63 nationwide after the ministry announced 21 deaths.

About 912 patients were discharged from quarantine at isolation hospitals, raising the total number of fully-recovered cases to 330,714.

Egypt has managed so far to vaccinate around 50 million people against the coronavirus.

The country’s vaccination campaign started in January using various types of imported and locally made vaccines and vaccinating millions of citizens.
