Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met on Monday Syrian President Bashar al-Assad who thanked Egypt and its great people for hosting the Syrian refugees.
The official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid said that Shoukry held a session of talks with his Syrian counterpart at the headquarters of the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Abu Zeid confirmed that Shoukry conveyed a message of solidarity and support from the government and people of Egypt to the people in Syria as a result of the devastating earthquake.
It is expected that Shoukry will affirm Egypt's permanent readiness to provide aid and assistance to the affected people in the two countries.
