Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, his wife Asma and their children toured the Al-Midan neighborhood in the capital, Damascus.

Buthaina Shaaban, the special advisor to the Syrian presidency, posted a video clip and commented: "Mr. President Bashar al-Assad is in the Damascus neighborhood of Midan, among his people, his family and his fans."

On Saturday, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was sworn in for a fourth presidential term of 7 years, nearly two months after his re-election.

In a speech that followed his swearing-in, Assad stressed that liberating the rest of Syria's land remains a priority.

Al-Assad called on those who "bet on the fall of Syria to return to the bosom of the homeland," considering that one of the biggest obstacles now lies in the freezing of Syrian funds in Lebanese banks.
