Captain Nehad Hafez, the assistant of the late suspended pilot Ashraf Aboul Yousr, returned to work after a year and a half of suspension, sources from Ministry of Civil Aviation told media agencies on Saturday.
Hafez was suspended a year and a half due to the famous Mohamed Ramadan- Aboul Yousr incident.
The private aviation company, where the co-pilot works, revealed that he returned to work this week after ending a training period during the holy month of Ramadan.
The trending incident was initiated by Ramadan after he published a picture on social media in a plane’s cockpit in October 2019.
He used the image to promote his “Mesh Batfatesh fel Matar” (I am Not Searched at the Airport) song, which included the image of him piloting the plane.
The Civil Aviation Authority suspended Aboul Yousr and his co-pilot and referred them to urgent interrogation for violating the rules of international and Egyptian civil aviation, and for potentially endangering passengers.
Next, the Cairo Economic Court awarded the deceased pilot LE 6 million in his lawsuit against Egyptian actor and singer Mohamed Ramadan, wherein the suspended pilot demand LE 25 million in damages.
A week later, the suspended pilot died at an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), after suffering a severe health problem.
