On Saturday, Supreme Council for Media Regulation, headed by journalist writer Karam Gabr, organized a symposium for Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mohamed Abdel-Ati, as they discussed water challenges in Egypt.
The symposium, held in El Qanater El Khayreya, was attended by TV anchors/ media persons such as Ahmed Moussa, Nashaat Al-Dihi, and Mohamed El-Baz.
During the symposium, Gabr affirmed that Egypt will not give up its historical rights to the Nile water, adding that we must all line up behind President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to defend our legitimate rights.
"We have come to El Qanater El Khayreya to convey a message of reassurance and great confidence in the Egyptian state and its ability to manage this crisis," he added.
“We all have to trust that the head of state is capable of finding all possible solutions to preserve Egypt's historical rights of Nile water."
Moreover, the journalist stated that the Ethiopian people have all the right to enjoy development, but without violating the historical rights of Egypt and Sudan in the waters of the Nile.
The journalist also emphasized that there is great Arab support for Egypt and Sudan in preserving their shares in the Nile water.
On his part, Abdel-Ati stated that Egypt is ready to face any emergency regarding the water sector, stressing that the ministry provides water needs for everyone. He also mentioned that it manages water with great efficiency to achieve the maximum benefit from every drop of water.
