Official sources revealed that the Suez Canal Authority announced that the losses from Ever Given blockage are estimated at $1 billion.
The sources indicated that Lieutenant General Osama Rabie, head of the Suez Canal Authority, addressed the company owning the ship, with the estimated value of the losses, in an official letter.
The sources also noted that discussions are continuing between the two sides, to reach a satisfactory solution, and confirmed that in case of a dispute erupted over the estimated value, the Panamanian ship and its cargo, which is estimated at 3 billion dollars, will be seized.
