The Pharmacists Association in Sudan reported that the spread of dead bodies on the streets portends a health disaster, as the number of both civilian and military casualties increases due to the continued fighting between the army and the Rapid Support Forces for two weeks.
The Sudanese pharmacists' statement added that dozens of corpses were scattered on the sidewalks of the roads in Khartoum, and the city of El Geneina also in Darfur (west of the country).
Medics at El Geneina Hospital said that bodies are lying on the roads that have not been moved due to the difficult security situation and the spread of tribal militants in large parts of the city.
The suspension of most hospitals in the capital also exacerbated this tragedy, in addition to the shortage of medicines and the closure of pharmacies.
While pharmacies were looted and stolen, and several hospitals were occupied by armed elements, some of them from the Rapid Support Forces. Factories, companies, and drug stores were damaged and robbed in several areas, which will exacerbate health and humanitarian disasters in the country.
Many local and international health organizations have warned of the danger of epidemics spreading due to the spread of corpses, and hospitals stopping work if the fighting continues for a long time.
