Stephan El Shaarawy has officially announced that he will leave AS Roma at the end of the current season, confirming that Sunday’s match against Lazio will be his final appearance at the Stadio Olimpico.

In a statement shared on his official Instagram account, the Italian forward expressed deep gratitude to the club and its supporters, describing Roma as more than just a team, but “a home, a family, and a whole life.”

El Shaarawy reflected on his decade-long journey with the Giallorossi, highlighting memorable moments, including victories, historic achievements, and winning a European trophy, which he described as permanently engraved in his heart.

He also noted that captaining the team was one of the proudest moments of his career.

“This season has not been easy, but that does not change my love for this shirt or my commitment and respect I gave every day,” he wrote.

The 31-year-old confirmed that the derby will mark his final match at the Olimpico, where he intends to bid farewell to the fans with the same values he played with throughout his Roma career: dedication, respect, and commitment.

El Shaarawy concluded by thanking the club, teammates, coaching staff, and supporters, stating that while he will leave Rome, “a part of me will always remain here.”
