Minister of Youth and Sports Gohar Nabil stated that Egypt’s hosting of the 2028 Aerobic Gymnastics World Championship for the first time in Africa demonstrates the state’s strength and global trust in its organizational capabilities.
The minister’s remarks came on Saturday during the signing ceremony of hosting the tournament, attributing this achievement to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's vision and Egypt’s infrastructure development over the past decade.
The championship, expected to host 2,000 athletes from 80-90 countries, will boost Egypt’s international reputation.
The minister emphasized that the event reflects Egypt’s ambition to not only host major events but also to enhance its cultural image globally. He also revealed plans to host 75-80 countries and expand monthly sports events to support sports and tourism sectors.
President of the International Gymnastics Federation Morinari Watanabe praised Egypt’s progress in organizing world-class events, highlighting the country’s notable achievements in recent years.
