Dr. Ali Abdel-Al, Speaker of the House of Representatives ( HoR), said that bills of private hospitals treating people with Coronavirus are terrifying.

Dr. Abdel-Al added that the country is in a special circumstance such as war.

The emergency law gives the President of the Republic the right to direct the state to intervene to manage private hospitals in such circumstances.

Dr. Abdel-Al went on to say that he wishes the state doesn't reach to use this right

The Speaker urged the managements of private hospitals to take the national responsibility in light of these delicate circumstances that the country and the world as a whole are going through now.

The statements of the Speaker came during the plenary sitting to discuss a draft law amending some provisions of Law No. 1 of 2019 establishing a fund to care for innovators and geniuses.

The Speaker indicated that the private hospitals in Egypt are of a high scientific level, explaining that this circumstance is experienced by the whole world and all countries have used the law to administer some private hospitals to treat patients with this epidemic.

He hopes those private hospitals will realize it with a national sense.

He pointed out that:" We are in a pandemic that requires harnessing all the capabilities of the state in general and in particular to confront it, get out of it, and deal with the crisis with a national sense."

He revealed that he knows that doctors have apprehensions as they demand raises to their salaries.

Disinfectant materials sterilization requirements are also very costly.

"But these items cannot lead to these highly cost bills, this is unacceptable in these circumstances, and I hope that the state will not arrive to use the powers vested in them," he said.

Ali Abdel-Al's comment was in response to what was raised by Dr. Magdy Morshed, member of the Health Affairs Committee in the House of Representatives, regarding the activation of the text of item (2) of Article 21 of the Emergency Law. That item allows the state to intervene to manage private hospitals in the era of crises.

Morshed appealed to President Abel Fattah El-Sisi to use his powers according to the emergency law, which gives him the right to obligate private hospitals, partially or completely, to operate their capacity within the framework of the states efforts to confront the Coronavirus.

He pointed out that there is a severe exaggeration in the bills of treating patients of the Coronavirus in private hospitals, stressing that intervention must be taken to stop this matter.
