The Spanish national team have set a new historic milestone, extending their unbeaten streak to 30 consecutive official matches, the longest in their history, under head coach Luis de la Fuente.

Spain claimed a convincing 4–0 victory over Georgia on Saturday at Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena in Tbilisi, in the European qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The record was sealed on Georgian soil, as Spain surpassed their previous golden run under Vicente del Bosque, which ended at 29 matches unbeaten between the 2010 World Cup and the 2013 Confederations Cup.

Spain’s historic streak began on 18 June 2023, during their UEFA Nations League semi-final against Italy in Enschede, Netherlands, a moment no one then realized would mark the start of a new era.

This remarkable consistency highlights the strength of Spain’s current generation and their ability to compete at the highest level.

Spain now stand one match short of matching the global all-time unbeaten record, held by Italy with 31 official matches without defeat between 2018 and 2021.

Spain lead Group E with a perfect 15 points, winning all five matches, scoring 19 goals and conceding none, the only team in the group with a flawless record.

Georgia sit third with 3 points, earned from one win and four losses, with 6 goals scored and 13 conceded.

The group is now set for a decisive showdown in the next round, as Spain host Turkey, who hope to snatch a direct qualification spot to the 2026 World Cup.
