Early Saturday, SpaceX launched the first South Korean first spy satellite from California's Vandenberg Space Force Base.
The satellite was successfully placed into orbit and succeded in conducting its earliest communications with the earthly station, according to the South Korean Defense Ministry.
Earlier, the ministry highlighted that this move is part of the space race between both Koreas, especially, after Pyongyang launched its first military satellite last month.
Seoul's eye will lift off from the Vandenberg US Space Force Base in California.
In the same context, SpaceX posted a photo of its Falcon 9 rocket after being replaced in the position of launching, carrying the letters "KOREA."
It was reported that Seoul plans to launch another four spy satellites by the end of 2025.
