Somalia.. Army Arrests 3 Shabab Leaders

Hours ago in Somalia, the army announced the arrest of 3 leaders of the Al-Shabaab terrorist movement in security operations carried out in the provinces of Middle and Lower Shabelle and Hiraan.

A statement by the Somali army explained that security operations carried out the special "DNB" forces, and destroyed bases of Al-Shabaab militants.

He added that, during the operation,  the forces "arrested a youth finance official in Hiran Governorate, in the center of the country, named Hassan Yusef Ali."

The forces also succeeded in arresting an official in the Lower and Middle Shabelle governorates in the south of the country, named Abdullah Ishaq Hussain.

During the large-scale security operation, Ali Abdali Gilwa, an official spreading the terrorist ideology in the Ali Adi region, was also arrested.

The commander of the operation, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Suleiman, commander of the fourth pision of the Somali Special Forces Danb, said: "The headquarters and bases of the terrorist movement elements were destroyed."

"We carried out the operations after obtaining intelligence information about the locations of these elements, and we are tracking other leaders, and we will double such operations," Suleiman added in statements to the Somali Army Radio Voice.
