The Somali government announced the killing of 10 civilians and 4 militants during an attack by Al-Shabaab in the Abdel Aziz district of the capital, Mogadishu.
And the Somalia News Agency (SUNA) reported on Twitter that "the security forces ended the attack that targeted a building in the Abdel Aziz district in the capital, Mogadishu, on Tuesday evening, as all terrorist militants were liquidated."
On February 16, more than 80 people were killed and 100 others wounded in sectarian fighting in the semi-autonomous region of Somaliland, raising the risk of larger clashes in a country already suffering from drought and a raging war against an Islamist insurgency.
And the Bloomberg news agency stated that, despite the secession of "Somaliland" from Somalia in 1991, the federal government did not recognize its demands for independence and did not obtain international support.
